Mr. Ramirez is the Vice Chairman of the Hispanic Leadership Alliance. He also served on the Senior Executive Corporate Advisory Board for the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2015-2017 and served on the National Hispanic Advisory Committee for the 2016 Jeb Bush Presidential Campaign. In addition, Mr. Ramirez serves on the Board of Directors for Oryza Capital, a Dallas based private equity firm. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Liberty Christian School and was a member of the City Council in Highland Village, Texas where he also chaired the Ethics Board.

Mario E. Ramirez is President of MRamirez Group, LLC a consulting firm focused on business development and public-private partnerships in alignment with higher education, corporate leadership and the Hispanic market. He also works as an investment banker with Avalon Securities, a boutique investment banking firm based in New York City.

 

Mr. Ramirez was previously with TIAA, a Fortune 100, $1 trillion financial services company. There he served as part of the Senior Leadership Team in the role of Managing Director of Executive Relations and Hispanic Markets. In this role, he worked closely with the CEO and the Executive Management Team strategically connecting them with influential leaders in government, higher education and industry critical to business advancement. He also represented the company on Capitol Hill providing Congressional briefings and exploring collaborative opportunities with members of Congress and other leaders. Mr. Ramirez created Executive Planning, a suite of services specifically designed to address the unique financial planning needs of executives, board members, Nobel Laureates and coaches. He also led the company’s Hispanic Market nationally.

 

A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Mr. Ramirez serves his alma mater in a number of ways. He serves on the Sam M. Walton College of Business Dean’s Executive Advisory Board, the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame Selection Committee, the Garrison Financial Institute Board of Directors and the Arkansas Executive Forum. In addition, he serves on the Campaign Arkansas Steering Committee and chairs the campaign committee for Diverse Programs. He and his wife, Laura served as co-chairs of the University’s Chancellor’s Society in 2011-12. Mr. Ramirez served as the commencement speaker for the Sam M. Walton College of Business in 2007 and in 2010 received the Walton College of Business Service Award.
